Roommate money

How do you split rent fairly between roommates?

Pick one rule the whole house agrees on: evenly, by room size, or by income. Even is simplest. By room size is fairest when the rooms differ. By income works for couples and close friends. Put your numbers in below and every share adds up to the rent exactly.

What about two people in one room?

Treat the room as one share, then split it between the two of them. That's what the calculator does when you tap + on a room. Some houses also add a little for the shared bathroom or the parking spot; agree on that once, in the open, and write it into your roommate agreement.

    Then collect it without chasing

    1. Whoever runs the place sets up the house in TableCash and sets the rent as a goal.
    2. Each roommate's share sits next to their name, and everyone chips in their share by card.
    3. The whole house sees who's in and who's not in yet. One tap nudges whoever isn't in yet.

The money goes to the person who runs the house, and nothing leaves until they approve it.
